Prince Harry Once Revealed the Two Words Meghan Markle Prayed at Princess Diana’s Grave as UK Return Nears
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to return to the United Kingdom next month with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, marking what would be the family’s first visit to Britain together in four years. As anticipation builds ahead of the trip, renewed attention has focused on one of the couple’s most emotional moments—Meghan’s visit to Princess Diana’s final resting place at Althorp House.

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to travel to Britain as Prince Harry attends the one-year countdown events for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. The engagements are scheduled to take place between July 10 and July 17 and could include the couple’s children joining them for the visit.

The trip has also sparked speculation that Harry and Meghan may once again visit Althorp House, the Spencer family estate in Northamptonshire where Princess Diana is buried.
The estate will reportedly be closed to visitors on July 10 and July 11, leading some royal observers to wonder whether the closure could coincide with a private family visit. Prince Harry has stayed at Althorp during previous trips to the UK, including in August 2024 when he attended the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.
Princess Diana, who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 at the age of 36, is buried on a secluded island in the middle of the Round Oval lake within Althorp Park’s Pleasure Garden. The gravesite remains private and is not accessible to members of the public.
The renewed interest has also brought attention back to a deeply personal story Harry shared in his memoir Spare.

In the book, Harry recalled taking Meghan to visit his mother’s grave for the first time. He described the visit as an intensely emotional experience, writing that Meghan knelt beside Diana’s grave and quietly offered a private prayer.
Harry later revealed that Meghan’s prayer centered on just two heartfelt words: “clarity” and “guidance.”
According to Harry’s account, Meghan asked Princess Diana for help in finding direction as she prepared to become part of the Royal Family. The moment, he wrote, reflected both Meghan’s respect for his mother’s memory and the enormous changes she was about to face.
The story resonated strongly with many readers, who viewed it as one of the most intimate passages in Harry’s memoir.
Should the Sussexes visit Althorp again during their reported UK trip, it would likely carry even greater significance. Since Meghan last visited Britain in 2022, the couple have experienced several years of continued public scrutiny, while also raising Archie and Lilibet in California.
Royal watchers have also speculated that the visit could provide an opportunity for Harry to introduce his children to one of the places that holds the deepest emotional connection to their late grandmother.
Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle has confirmed any plans to visit Althorp during the upcoming trip, and no official itinerary has been released.
However, if the family does return to Princess Diana’s gravesite, it would mark another poignant chapter in Harry’s enduring effort to keep his mother’s memory close—not only for himself, but also for the next generation of the Spencer-Windsor family.
