Chilling details emerged after an elderly man l0st his life and two other people were hospitalized following two separate crashes just hours apart in southeast Queensland.
A Corolla and a tip-truck both caught fire after one of the crashes.

An elderly man has been killed and two other people injured in two separate crashes in southeast Queensland.
A Toyota Corolla and an Isuzu tip truck collided — and both caught fire — on Forest Hill Fernvale Rd in Lynford about 6.50pm on Wednesday.
The Toyota driver, a 72-year-old man from Coominya, died at the scene. He was the only person in that vehicle.
The 48-year-old truck driver was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries.

About five hours later, a Holden Commodore and a Toyota LandCruiser collided head-on on the New England Hwy at Mount Kynoch about 11.47pm.
The Holden driver, a 33-year-old woman from Darling Heights, was trapped in her vehicle for some time before she coudl be freed by emergency crews.
She was taken to Toowoomba Hospital with significant leg injuries.
The 33-year-old driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, a man from Toowoomba, suffered minor injuries and chose not to go hospital.
Photos show both vehicles with extensive front-end damage following the head-on collision.


The Holden’s engine bay appears to have been crushed, white the Toyota LanCruiser’s front bumper and bonnet were heavily damaged.
Investigations into both crashes are ongoing.
