JUST MINS AGO: KING CHARLES BREAKS HIS SILENCE ON FATHER’S DAY AMID REPORTS HARRY WILL SOON RETURN TO THE UK WITH MEGHAN AND THE CHILDREN!

King Charles is celebrating Father’s Day.

On Sunday, June 21, the King’s team posted a touching tribute marking the holiday on the Royal Family’s official social media accounts.

The King was seen standing alongside his late father, Prince Philip, in a throwback photo taken at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire, England, on Aug. 20, 1971.

“Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today,” the snap of Charles receiving his wings was captioned.

Prince Philip was 99 years old when he died on April 9, 2021.

Last year, the royals similarly marked Father’s Day with tributes to King Charles and Queen Camilla’s dads.

They shared a black-and-white photograph of Charles and Princess Anne being pushed on a swing by their late father, Prince Philip, alongside a snap of Queen Camilla with her own father, the late Major Bruce Shand.

While Father’s Day coincided this year with the 44th birthday of the monarch’s elder son, Prince William, it also came amid an ongoing rift between King Charles and his younger son, Prince Harry.

The schism became public when Harry, 41, and Meghan Markle, 44, stepped back from their royal roles in 2020 and relocated to her home state of California. The couple made the move with their son Prince Archie, now 7, while their daughter Princess Lilibet, 5, was born in California.

A sticking point of the strain is said to be the automatic state-funded U.K. security that Prince Harry lost when he stepped back from his royal role. Last year, a judge dismissed his pivotal legal appeal to have the protection restored, a crucial update in the legal battle Harry’s lawyers have described as a fight for his life.

While the police protection issue has kept Meghan and their children out of the U.K. since 2022, the BBC reported on June 17 that the family of four would return to Harry’s home country in July. Next month marks the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, an adaptive sporting competition for service personnel and veterans that Harry created.

The Duke of Sussex has stressed he doesn’t feel safe bringing his family to the U.K. In a statement to the High Court in London, Harry said that he needed security for his two children “to feel at home” in his native country.

“The U.K. is my home. The U.K. is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States,” Harry said. “That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on U.K. soil.”

“I can’t put my wife in danger like that, and given my experiences in life, I’m reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too,” he added.

Regarding the rift with his family, Prince Harry previously told the BBC that he would “love reconciliation.”

“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he continued, seemingly referring to the King’s cancer diagnosis, which was announced in 2024. “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”

Prince Harry and King Charles reunited in September 2025 at the King’s London residence while Harry was in the U.K. for the WellChild Awards and Invictus Games events. The father and son met for a 55-minute conversation, marking their first in-person meeting in 19 months.
