A Melbourne boxer with bikie links has been gunned down in an ambush killing in Melbourne, stumbling around 100 metres in a desperate search for help before collapsing.
Hussein Dehaini was shot just after midnight on Mount Alexander Rd in Ascot Vale with gunshots ringing out and startling nearby residents.
“Just two gunshots at about 12.10 and then my son rang me from the other room just to say that he heard them as well and he wanted his girlfriend not to leave because he was worried,” one witness said.

Detectives spent the night and most of Sunday at the crime scene, with evidence markers tracing a trail of blood which stretched around 100 metres.
“I am quite terrified of this experience. It’s terrible,” one local resident said.
“We feel like it should be a safe neighbourhood so yeah, it’s very disconcerting,” another added.
As a professional boxer, Huss ‘Skinny’ Dehaini was undefeated in 11 bouts from 2014 to 2019.
Known to police, Dehaini was associated with the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang and was arrested in 2023 as part of an Echo Taskforce investigation. He was charged with firearm possession.
Dehaini was shot in front of a vacant business before stumbling across the road in front of a Woolworths, where he was picked up by paramedics. He later died in hospital.
