As Meghan Markle prepares to return to the UK with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, it had been rumoured that the Duchess of Sussex would make a return to acting.
Deadline has now reported that Meghan will be joining Theo James in the third season of Netflix‘s The Gentlemen. The publication claimed that the royal is in early talks with Guy Ritchie about joining the cast of the crime thriller.
However, sources told the publication that the deal wasn’t done yet, especially with the Netflix series not yet officially being renewed for a third season. A role also hasn’t yet been identified for Meghan.
There have been plenty of rumours about the Duchess of Sussex restarting her acting career, and a source close to the family told HELLO!: “There have been inquiries in the entertainment space recently and things that she is considering but nothing is firm yet. There are only conversations.”

Meghan’s most famous role was paralegal Rachel Zane in Suits, but she also starred in Hallmark movies and films Horrible Bosses and Remember Me. She put her acting career on hold when she married Harry in 2018 in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, telling the BBC at the time it marked the start of a “new chapter”.
However, she hasn’t left her TV career in the past, and has appeared several times on-screen including with her 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, and her cooking and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan.

Theo leads the cast in The Gentlemen
In 2022, Meghan shut down the possibility of a return to acting, telling Variety that she was “done”. Although, she did add: “I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.”
Mark Borkowski, a PR expert, also hinted that Meghan could look to have a theatre career. “I know at least three or four West End theatre producers who would have her in a production tomorrow,” he said.

Meghan and Harry’s UK return
It was confirmed on Wednesday evening that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be returning to the United Kingdom at the end of August, six years after they left Britain for a new life in the United States.
HELLO! understands King Charles was first made aware of these plans on Sunday, and that although he is pleased he will have more opportunity to see his son and grandchildren, there will be no alterations to Harry or Meghan’s status within the royal family in accordance with previous decisions.

The news comes after Harry and his family reunited with the King during the Duke’s recent trip to the UK. The meeting marked the first time that Charles had seen his grandchildren in-person since the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Friends of the Prince have said he felt “buoyed, very happy, and really energised” following the meet-up, according to a source in The Times. It was implied at the time that Harry hoped the meeting could mark a fresh start, with the insider adding: “Every journey of a thousand miles begins with one footstep.”
