MEGHAN Markle has been pictured cosying up to the wife of Netflix boss Ted Sarandos just weeks after cutting ties with the streaming giant.

It comes after the Duchess of Sussex split from Netflix and took “complete control” of her jam empire As Ever.

Netflix had been a partner and invested in As Ever when it was launched 12 months ago to sell jam, rosé wine and flower sprinkles.

However an insider revealed Meghan, 44, had been relieved to be able to “go it alone” after splitting with the streaming service over fears As Ever was being “held back” by “cautious” Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex broke with the streaming service after it was revealed Netflix had axed With Love, Meghan, after just two series.

It followed scathing reviews of Meghan’s Netflix show.

Meghan and the Netflix CEO’s wife – Nicole Avant – appear to have remained close despite the business split however.

Both Harry and Meghan were in attendance at the Beef Season Two Tastemaker event in Montecito, California, on Friday.

Dozens of famous faces also made appearances at the party including Orlando Bloom, singer Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau, Canada’s former prime minister, Riverdale star Charles Melton, and British actress Carey Mulligan all appearing at the do.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife have previously praised Meghan with Nicole calling her “the rock star” last spring.

Following the breakdown of the rocky relationship between the Duchess and Netflix it was said Meghan remained “on good terms” with streaming service supremo Sarandos.

Despite the split Harry and Meghan still have a “first-look” deal with the streaming giants with projects in the pipeline.

A source previously said: “Meghan is still on good terms with the Netflix team and close personal friends with Ted (Sarandos) so hasn’t wanted to upset him, but is very happy to have full control of the company.

“It’s a good time for Meghan to have complete control, given recent successes.

“Netflix have been a good partner, but she’s wanted to go global with the brand for some time, but has been held back by the more cautious Netflix team.”

As Ever launched last year with products only available in the US – but there are now plans for the jam and flower sprinkles to be sold globally.

Last year it was claimed it was struggling to cope with demand and sales figures after a glitch in the website.

Sources close to Meghan claimed she had actually sold up to 870,000 jars of jam and they were “flying off the shelf”.

As Ever does not release sales figures but it is understood stock continues to sell out.

Following Meghan’s split from Netflix, a spokesman for the Duchess said: “As Ever is grateful for Netflix’s partnership through launch and our first year.

“We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As Ever is now ready to stand on its own.

“We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more.”
