Princess Kate seen sporting plaster following mystery injury

The Princess of Wales looked so glamorous when she attended a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, but the royal was also sporting an injury
he Princess of Wales looked radiant at Tuesday’s Buckingham Palace reception, which honoured what would have been the late Queen’s 100th birthday.
However, it appears that the royal was sporting a small injury as she arrived at the event, as she was seen with a plaster wrapped around her right thumb. Kate didn’t let this bother her, as she was seen interacting warmly with guests.
It’s currently unclear how Kate picked up the small injury, however, she has previously been seen with plasters after injuries from playing with her children.
During one moment at the reception, Kate was seen speaking with retired police officer Tony Gledhill, 88, who was awarded the George Cross in 2008 for subduing armed criminals in 1966.

The royal was seen with a plaster on her thumb
In a moving moment, Kate leaned in to hug Tony, before gently holding both his hands as he appeared overwhelmed with gratitude. Tony later revealed that he had told the Princess he had recently lost his wife of 67 years, who had urged him to attend the palace event before she died.
The George Cross recipient also spoke with Prince William and King Charles, and later reflected on his encounter, saying: “The princess was lovely, she was fantastic.”
Previous injuries
This isn’t the first time that the mother-of-three has been seen carrying a small injury, as she also sported a plaster during a visit to Hull in 2023, where she partook in a game of wheelchair rugby.

Kate has previously had minor finger injuries
During the match, she was seen with a bandage over two of her fingers, merely as a precaution after injuring herself on her children’s trampoline. A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said at the time it was a “small injury, nothing serious”.
She was also seen with the injury during a visit to HMP High Down in 2023. During the visit, she noted: “My own fault. I was jumping around on the trampoline.” Gesturing to her strapping, she added: “I did put it on just to keep it safe.”
