High School Sh00ting Sh0cks Georgia: 14-Year-Old Suspect Denied Bond and Will Be Tried as an Adult
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Warner Robins High School shooting suspect has been identified, and had his first court appearance Thursday.
Denzelle Willis Jr., 14, has five charges, the district attorney said in court.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, theft by receiving stolen property (the handgun), disrupting the operation of a public school, carrying weapons within a school safety zone, and possession of a handgun by a person under 18 years old.
The aggravated assault with a firearm charge was what pushed the case to superior court, and Willis will be tried as an adult.

The judge said Willis could appear before a grand jury at the earliest next Tuesday. She also said they would not discuss bond at this time.
“I am not going to entertain the issue of bond today,” Judge Katherine Lumsden said. “You will remain in custody at the YDC.”
According to the police and prosecutors, Willis had shot another student in a bathroom at Warner Robins High School.
Sheriff Matt Moulton says the shooting happened after a verbal fight escalated.
“I want to thank the board of education. I want to thank Dr. Wallace, the principal of Warner Robins High School,” Moulton said. “The school threat protocol and our training was followed perfectly today, and fortunately what could have been a much worse incident was minimized.”
