Mom Sh0t De-ad After Defending Children at Family BBQ – Now Her Family Is Begging for Help
Alexis Rayford is remembered as a loving mother of two daughters and proud grandmother to her grandson.
Now, her family is raising money for her burial.
Rayford, 47, was shot and killed after protecting children at a family barbecue Sunday, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser posted online by the family. They hope to raise $3,500.
Officers and emergency medical crews provided aid after police responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of Jackson Avenue on Sunday night.
Rayford later died from her injuries in the hospital.
“We are heartbroken and still trying to process this devastating loss,” Rayford’s family wrote in the GoFundMe.
“Our family is coming together to give Alexis the beautiful and proper burial she deserves. Any donation, prayer, or share would mean more to us than words can express.”
