Judge Rob Rinder has reacted to a “terrifying” AI deepfake of himself getting married to his friend and co-star Rylan Clark.
The barrister and TV personality, 47, along with Rylan is currently fronting Rob and Rylan’s Passage to India. The series is a follow-up to the BAFTA-winning Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour which saw the pair travel around Italy.
The new series sees the pair travel to India to “discover how the country’s ancient wisdom, art and culture can challenge them both personally, intellectually and physically.”

Joining Gaby Roslin on her podcast, Reasons To Be Joyful at the beginning of August, Rinder denied reports that he and Rylan are the first people each other speaks to every day.
“We speak often,” Rinder said before confirming the very “real” friendship. He continued, “It comes together in a much more concentrated fashion when we’re working.”
When Roslin chimes in that “it’s so bizarre” that people thinks Rylan and Rinder are dating, the barrister moved onto a scarier topic. “What’s terrifying is that people generate AI deepfakes about us getting married.”
He then added: “They’re really frightening. And also, I think I heard that someone had cut and pasted me into the actual pictures of Rylan’s first wedding,” Rinder laughed.

Rob and Rylan’s Passage to India sees the two TV hosts retrace the journey of Rinder’s favourite author, E.M. Forster who wrote A Passage to India 100 years ago.
“Following in the footsteps of my literary hero E.M. Forster and being in India gifted me the sense of being more alive – it’s been a beautiful experience. I still can’t believe that I had to walk barefoot through Varanasi to find spiritual enlightenment while Rylan went to a yoga class, but what I’ve taken from the art and the people here has changed my life,” Rinder said earlier this year.
The final episode of Rob and Rylan’s Passage to India airs on BBC Two tonight (Tuesday 30 September) at 11pm. All episodes are available on the BBC iPlayer now.
