Offset is opening up about his mistakes during his seven-year marriage to Cardi B.

“I was definitely not perfect in the situation,” Offset — born Kiari Cephus — admitted on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer on Tuesday, Oct. 7. “I made a lot of mistakes. [There’s] a lot of things that I did wrong. She did things that was wrong.”

Discussing their pending divorce, Offset, 33, said that having the demise of his and Cardi’s marriage play out in public “on the front screen” has made navigating the situation more difficult.

When Palmer, 32, chimed in, asking if Offset felt there was anything he could have done differently, the Migos alum replied, “I should’ve respected her way more, you know what I mean? I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out.”

Amid his infidelity, Offset said that he felt he had to accept Cardi’s final divorce filing in July 2024. “That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin,” he explained. “I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I’m a grown man.”

The rapper added that the former couple have “kids to live for” and emphasized their role as parents. Offset shares daughter Kulture Kiari, 7, son Wave Set, 4, and daughter Blossom Belle, 13 months, with his estranged wife Cardi.

Offset went on to criticize social media users for making assumptions about the split. “The narrative be nasty sometimes on me and it don’t be that,” he said.

Cardi, born Belcalis Almánzar, is currently pregnant with her fourth baby, her first with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs. On Monday, Oct. 6, the rapper told Jay Shetty in an appearance on his On Purpose podcast that she mourned the end of her marriage long before it was over.

“I felt the love dying,” Cardi, 32, told Shetty. “From my end, from his end … I was very lonely because I chose to be lonely.”

She continued, “It took months for the heart to say, ‘You’re done.’ Instead of my mouth and my brain. My heart had to be like, ‘You’re done.’ Because you could say it and you could take actions but even if you take actions, if you’re not done you’re not done.”

The Am I the Drama? rapper filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024 after seven years of marriage. The rappers have had an on-and-off again relationship since tying the knot in September 2017; she previously filed for divorce in 2020, but later called it off. Their divorce is not yet finalized.
