Detroit livestream shooting leaves two dead as police investigate escalating online feud
A disturbing incident in Detroit that began as an online dispute has ended in a double fatal shooting during a Facebook Live broadcast, according to details shared in a widely circulated video and police updates.
The video opens with a warning about the dangers of publicly sharing real-time locations during livestreams. It then references a previous tragic case in Detroit involving a man known as Ray Ray and his sister, both of whom were killed during a livestreamed incident. At the time, Ray Ray’s one-month-old child was reportedly present in a nearby vehicle but was not harmed.

According to the account presented in the footage, tensions had been building online for approximately two days before the fatal incident. Ray Ray was allegedly involved in an escalating dispute with a local rapper. The conflict is said to have originated from offensive comments made during online exchanges, including remarks referencing the rapper’s deceased mother and aspects of Ray Ray’s personal life and his child’s family situation.
Over the course of those two days, Ray Ray reportedly continued posting provocative content and engaging in public online arguments. These posts further intensified the feud and attracted significant attention across social media platforms, contributing to a growing sense of hostility between the parties involved.
The video also highlights Ray Ray’s final livestream moments, during which he continued broadcasting despite warnings circulating online about potential safety risks and concerns that his location could be identified in real time. The footage shows him maintaining a confrontational tone up until the broadcast ended.
Shortly afterward, police in Detroit confirmed a double shooting at McKenna and Courtville Streets. Ray Ray and his sister, Rita, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Ray Ray’s one-month-old child survived the incident unharmed and has since been reunited with relatives.
Investigators have launched a full inquiry into the shooting and are working to identify and locate the suspect. No arrests have been confirmed at this time.
The case has sparked widespread discussion about the risks of livestreaming, the escalation of online conflicts, and how digital disputes can spill into real-world violence with devastating consequences.
