A ‘mind bending’ thriller that fans admit you can binge watch in just a single weekend is currently streaming on Netflix.

In one of the most recent updates to the streaming giant’s extensive library, all episodes of Dispatches From Elsewhere were made available to users. The series consists of 10 episodes and was created by actor Jason Segel, known for How I Met Your Mother, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Shrinking.

He also stars in the series, alongside Sally Field, Richard E. Grant, André Benjamin, and Eve Lindley. According to its synopsis, the story follows four ordinary people, Peter, Simone, Janice, and Fredwynn, who are brought together by chance after they all respond to a flyer.

Feeling as though something is missing in their lives, the characters are drawn into a game that unfolds in a serpentine series of events, taking them from parades to shareholders’ meetings. As they piece together the puzzle to find a path forward, they come to delve deeper into a mind-boggling mystery hiding just behind the facade of everyday life and their eyes are opened to a world of possibility, whimsy and wonder.

While it only consists of a singular season and Segel has since moved on to other projects, he has not ruled out returning to the world of Dispatches from Elsewhere, turning it into an anthology series.

It was looked upon favourably by critics upon its initial release, while some have continued to sing its praises, labelling it as ‘mind bending’ and suggesting that it should be ‘rediscovered’.

Over years, more and more fans have joined in with the recommendations for the series. However, some come with warnings that the show’s style and approach may not be acceptable to every viewer.

Others said they could not stop watching(Image: AMC)

As one person posted: “I don’t think this is a show for everyone, however I found it invoked a wonder I haven’t felt in many years. A delicately, skilfully told story. Definitely worth a look.”

While another claimed: “What an incredible show! Definitely will be a repeat watch. Until the end you don’t really understand that it’s truly you. Then you have to go back and see where you were the whole time. Just watch. You’ll get it!”

But someone else stated: “Amazing and eye-opening. Wildly creative and you can’t stop watching.”
