EXCLUSIVE: Farmer Wants A Wife Star Mieke Breaks Her Silence, Revealing Sh0cking Behind-the-Scenes Secrets Producers Never Wanted Fans to Know

There has been a lot of drama and heartbreak on this season of Farmer Wants A Wife, with sneaky edits and shocking returns keeping viewers on their toes.

Now, as fans anxiously await Farmer Dylan and Jarrad’s final decisions (following one wholesome and one questionable decision from Farmer Zac and Jason), contestants have revealed some shocking truths about the behind-the-scenes of the show as it wraps for another year

Farmer Jarrad from the 2025 season already revealed to WHO just how time-consuming production really is. He explained that they “didn’t actually get to do much farm work” during filming, which meant he had to spend time outside of shooting hours to catch up.

Controversial contestant Miranda Chopping from Farmer Zac’s farm this season also chatted to WHO after her exit, revealing some bombshell production secrets. One notable one was that all the contestants were ferried around in a van. Yikes.

Now, another of Zac’s girls, Mieke, told WHO about more behind-the-scenes secrets, with the flight attendant joking pretty candidly about how, while she could’ve done more “research” on the show, very little was actually communicated to the ladies throughout the whole experience.

‘You never know what’s going on’

When opening up about what surprised the 22-year-old the most about the experience, Mieke explained there was “a lot that was insane”, and she struggled with “never knowing” what was going on.

“I like my days to be organised. I like having a plan, and you just never knew what’s going on,” she confessed.

“They’d be like, ‘Okay, we’re getting on a flight’, but like, where are we going?” she added. “And they won’t tell you, and so we’re looking at [departure] boards trying to figure out where we’re going.

“That was annoying, because I like to know what’s happening.”

Mieke also revealed that they weren’t given much information about when they would see the farmers either, and instead, was only told last minute that she “won’t see Zac for a week”, which made forming a connection even harder.

The juiciest detail she admitted, however, was around the Black Tie event.

“When we flew for the black tie event, we were just in a hotel room for five days or something,” Mieke said. “And we were just like, ‘What’s going on? What are we doing?’”

While she joked that she hadn’t actually seen the show before applying – which probably added to her confusion around the black tie dinner while other contestants knew what was ahead – she still would’ve appreciated a little more communication from production about logistics.

The filming days were much longer than contestants realised

When it came to filming days, multiple contestants were surprised by how long they really were. Logan (who was in Farmer Jason’s top two this year) admitted she had no idea just how long the process of filming the show was.

“I just didn’t expect the filming part,” Logan told WHO. “I know that sounds funny because it’s a TV show, but just the hours and the takes; definitely not what I thought.”

This sentiment was echoed by Mieke, calling the long days “actually horrific”.

So, let this be a warning to future applicants!

While you may have the opportunity to find love and friendship, you will also not know what’s going on for most of the show, travel in vans from location to location, go on flights without knowing the destination, and be filming for hours and hours in front of the camera.
