Netflix fans have inundated the latest Agatha Christie adaptation with praise since it landed on the global streaming service. The all-new miniseries is based on the legendary author’s 1929 novel of the same name and has already landed on Netflix’s Top 10 list since its premiere last month. Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials features a star-studded cast including Mia McKenna-Bruce, Edward Bluemel, Iain Glen, Martin Freeman, and Helena Bonham Carter, in one of the writer’s first espionage thrillers.

The drama is set in 1925 and follows a country house party prank that turns deadly, with Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent (played by Mia McKenna-Bruce) investigating the chilling murder plot. As she looks into Gerry Wade’s (Corey Mylchreest) death, the detective uncovers a dangerous web of international intrigue, secret societies, and espionage. Viewers have urged fans of the book to tune into the news series, as one impressed fan shared: “It’s so great to see some Christie back on our screens, such a masterpiece.”

Another fan praised: “Loved! Upgraded Agatha Christie with a Traitors vibe! Great series! Great actors! Didn’t cheapen the dialogue with profanity like most shows these days!”

A third echoed: “A very good ‘who dunnit’. I hope they continue with further adventures of Mrs Bundle and the Seven Dials ‘club’.”

“The book was handled with care. If you’re looking for a mystery with drama, suspense, surprises, and great reveals, Seven Dials has all this in spades,” a viewer added.

“I really enjoyed this new adaptation of The Seven Dials Mystery. The story is clear and well-paced, with enough twists and clues to keep you interested without becoming confusing,” detailed another.

“Unlike other recent attempts at creating a series inspired by Agatha Christie, this one was actually engaging all the way through. I also thought the acting, sets, and cinematography were well done,” added a sixth.

With viewers eager to see more from Bundle, it’s unlikely Seven Dials will return for a new series, as the show was Christie’s adaptation in full.

Despite this, other fans remain hopeful that McKenna-Bruce will reprise the role for another potential adaptation, The Secret of Chimney’s, which her character features.

However, in a recent interview with Radio Times, writer Chris Chibnall seemingly shot this down and explained: “[The] Secret [of] Chimneys comes before Seven Dials, and the character of Bundle is quite different, actually, in the book. So I don’t think there’s a natural prequel or all that kind of stuff.”
