I’m A Celebrity Spin-Off Featuring Two Huge Stars Reportedly Axed After Just One Episode — Here’s What Fans Are Saying

AFTER striking up an unexpected bond on I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here!, ITV had big ideas for campmates GK Barry and Richard Coles.

The channel planned a show based around the racy Loose Women panellist sparring with the Church Of England vicar as they explored themes around life and death.

But I can reveal ITV has axed the project after making a pilot episode.

An insider said: “There were high hopes for the project because producers were excited by the dynamic between GK and Richard, not least because it seemed to amuse viewers.

“They enjoyed the idea of the wise older man interacting with the streetwise millennial as they explored some pretty deep subjects.

“But after provisional filming took place, it was decided not to proceed with it as a series — much to the disappointment of everyone involved.”

The duo were approached shortly after they went into the jungle in 2024 alongside the likes of Tulisa Contostavlos and Dean McCullough.

And they wasted no time talking about the project, with GK remarking last October: “We are exploring walks of life from two different generations — one from a gay godly man and a gay ungodly woman.

“There are some depressing bits in there, but one thing about me is that I will make a joke about it.”

GK was even talking about potentially including her girlfriend, footballer Ella Rutherford, in the show.

She continued: “We’ve filmed the pilot, so if we film the full series then I will force this girl into it.”

At the same event, Richard added: “Me and GK struck up the best of friendships and I’m happy to say we’ve taken that with us out of the jungle into the wider world.”

Cryptically, he added: “Expect something surprising with coffins.”

On a social media post about GK late last year, he said: “Working with you has opened my eyes to worlds I’d never heard of or dreamt of before.

“Some of them have been nightmares, but some of them have been dreams — and today has been a dream.”

Sadly, the dream is over.

NICK KNOWLES has had huge success with DIY SOS but he’s still keen to add to his CV.

I can reveal the 63-year-old TV host has landed his first acting role.

At this week’s TRIC Awards, Nick told me: “I’ve done a lovely short film called New Bloom.

“I got offered a script for a role playing a father.

“We are hoping to get it at film festivals – it was with a group that supports children who are neurodivergent and they give them opportunities in front of the camera.

“I was nervous because I’ve spent 40 years making it up as I go along, so having a script was something new for me.

“But it was really good.

“At 63, it’s nice to be doing something that gets the blood pumping again.

“I’m speaking to some other directors and looking at other scripts, but I’d like to play villains in something like Game Of Thrones.”

A FRESH line-up of celebs will get the grilling of their lives as ITV’s much-loved The Assembly returns for a third run.

Lenny Henry and Rylan Clark faced tough questioning from a group of autistic, neurodivergent and learning disabled interviewers in the recent episodes.

GLADIATORS, ready for a new series?

The adrenaline-fuelled BBC show will return for season four and a fresh celebrity special next year.

Bradley and Barney Walsh are back presenting and fans can expect Gladiator favourites Nitro and Fire to be flexing their muscles once again.

HARRY REDKNAPP has revealed that I’m A Celebrity All Stars was the last reality TV stint he will ever do.

The former football manager says he doesn’t fancy any other shows – and reckons he’s too old for Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking as Viagogo launched its World Cuts campaign, Harry – who was crowned king of the jungle in 2018 – said: “I’m not into doing more.

“There’s nothing else that would interest me.

“I wouldn’t be doing Strictly.

“I was asked years ago – It wasn’t for me.

“I wouldn’t do it for all the money in the world.

“Who wants to see an old bloke dancing around?”

I’m A Celeb’s All Stars final, aired in April and ended in chaos, with Jimmy Bullard and David Haye criticised over spats with Adam Thomas.
