A pulse-pounding geopolitical thriller starring a familiar face from The Night Manager on BBC One is streaming now.
The “captivating” series with a “superb” cast is currently in its third season, which boasts a rare 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Meanwhile, the series has a 92% score overall with an 85% rating from audiences, with one viewer declaring: “One of the best series I’ve ever watched on Apple, if not all of cable.”
Another agreed: “This was an exceptional show; with suspense, geopolitical tension and wonderful acting and casting.”
Another person called it “one of the best tv series I have seen for a long time” while yet another hailed it as the “best series ever”.

Tehran is an Israeli spy thriller television series created by Moshe Zonder, first premiering internationally on Apple TV+ in 2020.
The series features a star-studded cast, including Hollywood icon Glenn Close and The Night Manager star Hugh Laurie.
Meanwhile, Niv Sultan leads the cast as Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan, a young Jewish woman born in Iran but raised in Israel.
The Rotten Tomatoes synopsis for Tehran reads: “Tamar is a Mossad hacker-agent who infiltrates Tehran under a false identity to help destroy Iran’s nuclear reactor; when her mission fails and she’s trapped in a new life, Tamar must plan an operation that will place her loved ones in jeopardy.”
Sharing their appreciation for the series over on Rotten Tomatoes, one fan marvelled: “Absolutely love the show! so captivating.”
Another said: “This is the best show I’ve seen in a long time! I’m halfway through season two and can’t believe how intense every episode is. You won’t be disappointed.”
A third viewer praised the cast, writing: “This is the most realistic yet captivating thriller l’ve seen in а very long time, at least 10 years. Superb casting and realistic, honest cinematography.”
One more wrote: “Outstanding. Really draws you in from the first episode and just keeps getting better.”
Critics also praised the show, with the Globe and Mail commenting: “To call the series twisty is an understatement. It’s superbly crafted to nail one dangerous turn after another and keep you guessing.”

Yet not everyone was impressed overall, with one person saying: “I enjoyed the show, but it fell flat. From the beginning, it was hard to tell what the spy mission was exactly. And throughout the show, everything seemed to be dragged out way too long, which did make some episodes boring to watch.”
Another complained: “Everything about this show made me expect to love it but with no subtitles and not enough English it was too hard to figure out. Didn’t make past 30 minutes!”
Season 3 of Tehran debuted on Apple TV Plus on January 9, 2026, with the remaining 7 episodes dropping weekly until the finale on February 27.
The season has already received positive reviews from fans, with one fan calling it “terrific” and “gripping”, while another wrote: “Just started season 3 and it keeps you glued as the previous seasons have.”
Another agreed: “The tension in this series is palpable. Every glance from a secondary character could spell trouble. The characters in this series are smart – they think on their feet, making quick decisions that could affect their lives. Very enjoyable to watch.”
However, the latest series also received some criticism, with one viewer writing: “When a series gets past Season 2 it gets harder to impress. Sadly, this season was a major disappointment.”
Nevertheless, critics gave it positive reviews, with The Telegraph adding: “Tense, timely and with a whole lotta Laurie, it’s an absorbing return by one of the best thrillers around.”
