Spirito, 25, has now pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and causing death while driving uninsured.

He also admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving relating to a second passenger, Kent Online reports.

Maidstone Crown Court heard prosecutors believe Spirito was travelling at 137mph in the seconds before the crash.

Defence barrister John Dye said they believe he was driving at around 115mph but accepted this wouldn’t change much in terms sentencing.

Spirito was handed an interim disqualification from driving ahead of his sentencing in November.

Darcy’s family previously paid tribute following the tragedy in February 2023.

Writing on a memorial page, they said: “It has now been three weeks since we lost our precious beautiful daughter Darcy.

“The outpouring of love for her brief life & your help in dealing with our suffocating grief has been humbling.

“We cannot thank you enough for the support and kindness that has flowed since that horrific day. We thank you & love you all!”
