HBO Max has released an official teaser for its upcoming drama Lanterns, which is based on the DC comic characters from Green Lantern.
The series, which stars Laura Linney (Ozark), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) and Kelly Macdonald (Line of Duty, Dept. Q), will be released on 17 August on HBO Max.
The show is co-created by Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindelof (Lost) and Tom King (Mister Miracle). Chris, who also serves as showrunner, was an executive producer on the hit crime drama True Detective, and if Lanterns is half as dark and compelling as the acclaimed anthology series, viewers are in for a treat!

The trailer concludes with John Stewart telling Laura Linney’s character: “I was raised fearless and I’ll do this better than he’s ever done it before.”
She responds, “Then go and get it, John Stewart,” before a final shot shows John Stewart wearing a Green Lantern ring.
