A sleepy village. A trail of bizarre murders. And one very grumpy detective who just wants to retire.

BBC’s hotly anticipated new series Death Valley is set to premiere on May 17, and early buzz suggests it’s going to be one of the most entertaining crime dramas of the year.
The show follows a veteran detective (played by the legendary Timothy Spall) who is reluctantly pulled out of semi-retirement when a string of increasingly strange murders rocks a quiet rural community. With a brilliant but eccentric new partner by his side, the pair must navigate eccentric locals, dark secrets, and a killer with a very twisted sense of humor.

Blending sharp British wit, clever mystery, and dark comedy, Death Valley promises the perfect mix of Midsomer Murders charm and The Fall-style tension. Timothy Spall is already being tipped for awards buzz for his grumpy-yet-brilliant performance.
If you love murder mysteries with personality, quirky characters, and plenty of twists, mark your calendar — Death Valley arrives on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on May 17.
