Sh0cking Bodycam Footage Released as Family Seeks Truth in De-adly Police Sh00ting
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Members of Deangelo Fields’ family were outside the safety building Friday morning as bodycam video of him being shot by a Toledo police officer was released, while others were watching from Illinois.

They say the presentation did not give them closure. In fact, his mother says she’s ready to fight for justice.
Fields’ family has been watching any video they can find, which includes clips circulating online. They want every piece of video released.
As people in our community got their first look at the Toledo Police officer shooting Fields on Friday, so did his mother, Sherry Fields, who watched the video online from out of state.
She was asked what was running through her head as she watched it.
“It wasn’t right,” she said.
His brother, Antoine Shelton, does not think Fields was dangerous.
“He was not a threat to anybody. We want everything to be released. We want the videos from Sheetz to be released. We want for all the bodycam footage to be released. We want every call to be released,” said Shelton.
As we wait to see if that happens, Fields’ girlfriend, Katelyn Stone, wants him to not be remembered by this shooting.
“I’m just trying to remember who he was. This is how he was. He was always smiling all the time,” said Stone.
“It’s a tragedy. I don’t know what else to say,” said Shelton.
This case will be going to a Lucas County grand jury, so it will get another set of eyes to review the circumstances.
“It feels very intentional. It feels malicious. It feels like it was done on purpose,” said Shelton.
Fields’ mother also welcomes a further review.
“It gave me more questions and I’m coming with a lawyer and I am getting justice for my son,” said Sherry Fields.
Fields spent many years in the Chicago area and came to Toledo in the last few years.
