MAFS fam, the story of Danny Hewitt and Bec Zacharia is arguably one of the most memorable “explosions” of the 2026 season. Danny ended their marriage at Final Vows with a devastating line: “You’re my soulmate as a friend.”

And then, things only got worse. Unseen footage revealed Danny joking that “the future without Bec would be bright” and that “women would be queuing up for him.”

So after all the pain, accusations, and tears, where do Danny and Bec stand now? Is there any friendship or relationship left to salvage?

Danny has just shared an update in a late April interview. And it seems that the door has been firmly shut.

“I Wanted to Be Friends, But She Said No”

1. Danny Still Texts Apologies, Bec Responds Politely

In an interview on the MAFS Unleashed podcast, Danny revealed that he and Bec still have minimal contact:

“We texted the other day after the Stan show. I saw her on Stan and I texted her afterwards apologising again. She sent me a nice message back and that was it.”

A nice message. Polite. But nothing more.

2. “If Bec Apologised for Lying About Me, I’d Be Friends with Her”

When asked if there was any possibility of friendship, Danny said he doesn’t hold grudges and would be open to friendship if Bec apologised for what he claims were “lies” about him.

“If Bec came to me and apologised for lying about me, I’d be friends with her because I don’t hold a grudge.”

However, Danny admitted that when he brought this up on Stan, Bec “shut the door in his face.”

“We actually spoke about that on Stan and I said, ‘I’d love to be friends with Bec’. And she sort of shut the door in my face. That’s up to her. I’d be friends with her. I would be.”

3. The Explosive Confrontation on After The Dinner Party

Danny appeared on Stan’s After The Dinner Party Reunion planning a solo interview. But things changed when Bec dramatically walked in and confronted him face-to-face.

She said she felt “manipulated” watching their relationship back on TV, claiming Danny was a completely different person with her compared to unseen footage and private interviews.

Eventually, Bec accepted Danny’s apology, and both agreed to move on. But for Bec, “moving on” seems to mean closing the door completely.

4. The Moment Bec Broke Down Watching Unseen Footage

At the Reunion Commitment Ceremony, Bec was shown unseen footage from Danny’s final interview before Final Vows.

In that footage, a producer asked Danny: “What does the future look like without Bec?”

Danny replied with a smile:

“The future without Bec would be bright. Women will be queuing up for me. I won’t be able to walk down the street without them throwing their pantyhose at me.”

Bec broke down in tears and told expert Alessandra Rampolla that Danny had been “cruel” to her, because she had entered Final Vows believing they would leave together.

5. Is There Any Chance of Reconciliation?

Given everything that’s happened – the cruel comments, the lack of accountability, and the door now firmly shut by Bec – it seems Danny and Bec’s story has truly ended.

Danny may still hope for friendship, but Bec has chosen to protect herself. And that’s likely the healthiest decision she could make.

A Sad Ending, But a Necessary One

Danny and Bec once had beautiful moments. They were a couple many hoped would survive the storm. But thoughtless words, dishonesty, and irreparable damage caused everything to collapse.

Bec chose to shut the door. And Danny, whether he wants friendship or not, needs to respect that decision.

Perhaps the best thing both can do now is walk their separate paths, learn from their mistakes, and hope to find true happiness elsewhere.
