Love Island star Lola Deal has admitted she is “doubting” her planned move to Ireland after previously vowing to leave the UK to build a life with Sean Fitzgerald.
The pair were dumped from the villa together after volunteering to leave, and they had already begun mapping out a shared future on the outside. Last month Lola confirmed she was ready to relocate to Sean’s native Ireland. Now, however, the reality of the move appears to be sinking in.
The couple attended the Galway Races and took part in a candid interview that later circulated on TikTok. Asked about her relocation after experiencing Ireland first-hand, Lola replied: “Until I saw the weather. Now I’m doubting it, now I’m like um actually. Everyone’s been saying this is alright and I’m like, no, it’s not. So, I will still move. But as long as he knows how much I love him, I’m giving up the sun for him. Do you know what I mean?”
Sean, known as Fitzy, responded lightly: “I did say the weather in Dublin is a lot better than Galway, though, to be fair.”
In an earlier conversation with The Sun, Lola had spoken more confidently about their plans: “We’ve all our plans about going travelling now and stuff and then moving into Dublin.” Sean added: “Yeah she’s moving. We just can’t wait to get together and start a future.”
Inside the villa the pair coupled up on day one and grew stronger with each passing day. They became exclusive early on and exchanged “I love yous.” Since leaving, they have continued to present a united front, though Sean has also begun eyeing further television opportunities. He recently told The Irish Sun he would be open to appearing on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars and described I’m A Celebrity as a dream booking.
Lola’s latest comments introduce a note of hesitation into what had seemed a firm commitment. While she still intends to move, her emphasis on “giving up the sun” for love frames the decision as a significant personal sacrifice. Whether the weather proves a temporary complaint or the first sign of deeper second thoughts remains to be seen—but the conversation at the Galway Races has made clear that the path from villa romance to real-life relocation is already being tested.
