The central shift: a deliberate mix of returning veterans and fresh newbies, designed to inject raw strategy, bold moves, and unfiltered drama back into the house.
“They know viewers have been frustrated with influencer recruits and gameplay that feels too polished and careful now,” an insider told the outlet. The goal is clear — bring back houseguests who already understand how to play hard, make big moves, stir drama, and create the kind of unforgettable moments that live on in Big Brother lore.
This would mark a significant departure from recent seasons. The last fully veteran cast was Season 22. Season 7 remains the previous all-returnee edition before that. In the years since, veterans have appeared in limited capacities — as coaches, in pairs, or through twists — but never as the dominant force. Season 27 notably featured fan-favorite Rachel Reilly as the sole veteran through a twist, an appearance that still sparks debate among viewers.
Production is said to be reaching out to players from recent seasons, including Season 23’s Derek Xiao, Season 26’s America’s Favorite Player Tucker Des Lauriers, and Season 27’s Morgan Pope. The vision extends beyond beloved crowd-pleasers. Sources say the show is also eyeing “controversial figures who will divide the fandom.”
