Farmer Wants A Wife SHO-CK: Mieke Reveals What Cameras Didn’t Show During the “Weird” Family Visits
Farmer Zac and Farmer Jason’s final decisions on Monday night’s climactic Farmer Wants A Wife episode left fans and contestants shocked, overjoyed and spiralling with emotions.
However, for Mieke from Farmer Zac’s farm, it was just what she expected.
When chatting with WHO about what it was like for Zac to visit her family and have one final date before he made his choice – which, given how indecisive Zac was throughout the experience, was surely a hard one to make – Mieke confessed that the production side of the show made her realise that Zac was going to choose Maya before he even broke the news to the contestant himself.
Leading up to his visit to her family home in the Adelaide Hills, Mieke explained how “spaced out” the filming really was. After the Black Tie dinner, Mieke hadn’t “seen Zac for a week coming into the family visit”, she explained. Her visit was also “after Maya’s, which probably was even worse.”
“Yeah, it was just like a weird day,” Mieke confessed. “Maya said the same about hers.”

‘I left feeling really negative’
During the episode, Farmer Zac enjoyed a nice lunch with Mieke’s family, followed by an evening date. While it all appeared normal for fans watching at home, the reality of filming was another story entirely.
“I don’t know how to explain it. I left [the family visit] feeling not good,” she confessed. “It was more because there was the family day, and there was the little date thing after, and it just felt really rushed.”
“As you can see on screen, I had not a lot of time with [Zac], so to even be in the top two, I was kind of like, ‘I’m already at such a disadvantage because Maya has had like three dates, and then my date after [family day] was like 20 minutes.”
After this rushed day, it was “so obvious” to Mieke that she was “not going to be the person” that Zac would choose, just given how little time she spent with the farmer.
“I left that feeling really negative,” she confessed. “I was like to the [producer] I was with, ‘I could just go home, it’s obviously not me.’”
