Rivals season 2 episode 7 release confirmed by Disney as part 2 trailer drops

Fans of Jilly Cooper’s beloved Disney+ series Rivals just got an update about when the new episodes will be dropping

Disney+ series Rivals season two, part one only just wrapped up but there’s some good news for fans.

Season two of the drama adapted from the beloved novel by Jilly Cooper has been split in half and the first part landed on May 16.

Audiences have watched the first six episodes, with part one ending on a cliffhanger after it looked like one member of Rutshire perished during the raging storm that struck the idyllic Cotswolds village.

The second run is comprised of 12 episodes in total and fans are champing at the bit for part two, here’s everything we know so far.

Disney+ has confirmed that Rivals season two, episode seven will be released in November, when part two makes its long-awaited return.

However, there’s no yet a firm premiere date beyond this and it’s expected fans will get one closer to the release.

Audiences will be getting six more drama-filled episodes when Rivals returns.

A short teaser from the streaming platform reads: “Following a shocking turn of events in the sixth episode, the residents of Rutshire are rocked by tragedy, scandal and betrayal as the battle between Venturer and Corinium reaches breaking point.”

Disney+ also dropped a short teaser for the second batch of episodes which sees Tony Baddingham (played by David Tennant) and Declan O’Hara’s (Aidan Turner) contest for the Cotswolds crown reach new heights.

Meanwhile, Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) is forced to confront his own personal demons.

Fans can expect hedonistic parties, Bonfire Night chaos and the Hampshire Hunt Ball.

There will also be a turbulent Christmas as affairs unravel, alliances fracture and rivalries intensify.

Amid all the drama over the franchise war, Taggie O’Hara (Bella Maclean) must decide whether or not to follow her heart as others face up to the consequences of their ambition, power and secrets that they can no longer hide.

Season two, part two will also introduce some new characters, including Believe Me and Detectorists star Rachael Stirling as Araminta Pemberton, who is the younger sister of Lady Monica Baddingham (Claire Rushbrook).

Plus, Bridgerton and The Man in the High Castle star Rupert Evans will portray headmaster David Hawkley.

And finally, Big Little Lies star Santiago Cabrera plays Argentinian Polo legend Alejandro Mendoza.
