🚨 Brothers Walk Into a Nightmare After Finding a Naked Stranger Sleeping Inside Their Adelaide Apartment — The Sh0cking Details That Emerged Later Left Them Too Afraid to Return Home
A bizarre discovery inside an Adelaide apartment has left two residents wanting to move, finding a convicted criminal asleep in a bedroom.
Two Adelaide brothers say they’re now too frightened to stay in their eastern suburbs apartment after discovering a naked stranger asleep in their bed — a man since identified as Antoni James Barresi, who has a violent criminal history.
Police arrested the 33‑year‑old at the scene, charging him with trespassing and failing to provide personal details.
Barresi is no stranger to the courts. In 2018, he was charged with attempted murder over the stabbing of a French backpacker who was koala spotting in Belair National Park.
He later pleaded guilty to the lesser charges of aggravated assault and causing serious harm with intent, and was sentenced to four years and seven months in 2018.
The brothers say they had been out of the apartment for about two hours, when Barresi entered the property.
When one brother returned from the gym, he noticed their kitchen flyscreen smashed and followed the trail through the unit and found a naked Barresi under the fitted sheet, fast asleep.
“He took one pillow from my bed and then he came here and slept over here,” Harshil told 7NEWS.
His brother arrived moments later around 8pm. Together they tried to get the man to leave, but he refused. The men then called the police.
“My brother said, ‘This is not your house, can you please leave the house.’ He’s using the word please also, but he’s not going outside. He’s saying, ‘Sorry, sorry, sorry,’” Harshil said.
He described Barresi as heavily tattooed.
“Two tattoos over here and his full body is covered in tattoos down to the leg,” he said.
The brothers believe Barresi climbed in through the kitchen sink area before stripping off and getting into bed, they later found blood stains on the mattress.
Officers seized his clothes as evidence.
Barresi faced court on Wednesday. Barresi’s lawyer indicated he would apply for bail and said he may have still been under the influence.
In court it was also revealed Barresi had been out of custody for five months.
The court required further paperwork, and he was remanded in custody to return next week.
