Meghan Markle went on a secret trip over the weekend to mark a special occasion for one of her old pals. The Duchess of Sussex travelled to Chicago to attend a First Communion ceremony of the son of one of her best friends from college.
According to reports, the Duchess is the boy’s godmother. In a picture posted online, Meghan can be seen beaming as she dons a beige coat with a high neck.
Her hair is styled in a tight low bun, and her husband, Prince Harry, appears not to be with her.

According to People magazine, sources close to the Duchess confirmed her trip and that she is now back in Montecito, California, with her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
A source claimed that the Duchess arrived early to church and was among other families and friends from her college days.
Meghan enrolled at Northwestern University in Illinois in 1999 to study theatre and international studies.
During her studies, she managed to secure an internship at the US embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the help of her now-estranged father, Thomas Markle and his brother, Mike.
The move reportedly sparked the duchess’s political ambitions, but her dreams were shattered after she didn’t score high enough on a key test for a job at the State Department.
According to the book Finding Freedom by authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Meghan failed the Foreign Service Officer Test, which left her disappointed.
The book read: “When she didn’t pass the highly competitive test, she was extremely disappointed.
“She wasn’t used to failing. It was a major blow to her confidence, which she had always tried to protect.”
The duchess then returned to Northwestern University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree with a double major in theatre and international studies at the School of Communication.
It comes just days after Prince Archie marks his seventh birthday on Wednesday, May 6.
The young prince is likely to mark the day privately with his family in California.
