JUST MINUTES INTO KYLE SANDILANDS’ LIVE DEBUT, SOMETHING WENT VERY WRONG — Viewers Left Stunned
The golden mic has officially been switched on, but it was a catastrophic start for Kyle Sandilands as the first episode of Kyle Sandilands Live hit the airwaves on Monday morning.
As tech issues plagued the show continuously, Sandilands’ manager Bruno Bouchet even had to suggest a hard reset mid-way through and the team terminated the show for around a minute.

“It’s going to terminate everything,” Bouchet told Sandilands as they debated the decision.
The show disappeared for 30 seconds with all live streams dumped.
For a brief pause they went off air, but the tech issues continued as an opening clip played over and over while Sandilands still continued to struggle with audio in the background.
“I’m not used to all this bullshit here with the video and the audio,” Sandilands said in the background.
The live show crossed to their first dual video guests of the day, with the echoing sound continuing as they kicked off Tradie vs Lady.
“We’re off to a clunky start,” Sandilands told listeners as tech issues took over in the opening minutes of his show.
Sandilands admitted it was a “digital mess” behind the scenes with glitching audio, echo-ing mics and even the host unable to hear things at some points in the first minutes.
“We’re all here and it’s a digital mess behind the scenes,” Sandilands said.
The crew is all back, with Bouchet – Sandilands’ manager – there in the audio room, Jaimee Blazquez – best known as Mayo – there with Mary Madigan and Brooklyn Ross all in the studio.
“You put together a radio station in one month. Do you expect things to go smoothly?” Ross asked.
“Yes, I do Brooklyn,” the shock jock quipped back.
Ross’ return to working with Sandilands was one of the biggest surprises, and he admitted that it wasn’t easy to get him across from ARN.
“I didn’t know if I would be here actually today, Kyle,” Ross said.

“When you quit a job on Friday, normally you can’t work somewhere else the next Monday.”
Sandilands admitted he made a few “high-end phonecalls” to get things over the line.
Ross was originally banned from broadcasting for two months, and he piped in to confirm that it was “eight weeks”.
“I basically couldn’t do anything, but I would have got paid by then, which was nice,” Ross added.
“Like, I could have had a holiday. That would have been fine, but I wanted to be here from day one.”
As the show continued different audio issues hit not only Sandilands, but with playing interview grabs and calling in guests and there were several moments where it seemed chaotic as they tried to get things moving along.
At one point Sandilands tried to play audio of Ross from his time at KIIS weeks ago when he confirmed that he would not be leaving ARN – although it took a lot to get the clip to play, then for the audio in studio to return.
After that Sandilands got up and walked out of the studio to go into the audio room to yell at the team to fix the issues and press the right buttons.

At that moment New South Wales premiere Chris Minns walked in, in preparation for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Minns came into the guest studio and had a chat with Sandilands, with the pair revealing they recently bumped into each other while on family holidays in the Blue Mountains.
Sandilands joked he thought it was a fan or a “meth head” who approached him in line at an icecream shop, until he recognised Anna – Minns’ wife.
Minns was rugged up with a beanie and everything braving the weather, which resulted in the scruffy look.
After the pair had a chat, Minns went back into the main studio to cut the ribbon and officially open the Kyle Sandilands Live show – where another tech issue hit.
Despite having cameras and mics throughout the studio, as the countdown kicked off the live stream flicked to Bouchet in the control room, not on Minns.
The ceremony was done and dusted without making it onto the live stream.
