Hero Dad Stabbed as Knife-Wielding Gang Launches Terrifying Home Invasion Spree Across Brisbane and Logan
Sleeping families have been terrorised when masked intruders stormed a string of homes overnight, injuring one man and holding another couple at knifepoint.
Police are investigating at least six break-ins and attempted home invasions that are suspected to be linked, across Brisbane’s south and Logan between just after midnight and 3am on Friday.
Two vehicles were stolen.
A husband and wife were confronted inside their home when three offenders smashed through a rear glass door at Eight Mile Plains about 1.46am, police said.
The couple were held at knifepoint as the group demanded the man’s wedding ring, watch and a Chanel handbag before fleeing with multiple stolen items.
Security vision captured the trio using a pole to smash through the glass door before climbing inside as the homeowner’s wife runs upstairs to safety.

Another angle appears to show at least one of the offenders carrying a large knife.
Earlier, a 49-year-old man suffered a laceration to his arm when he confronted three intruders inside his Manly home.
Police said the man managed to chase the offenders from the Royal Esplanade property after “a minor physical altercation”.
“No one else at the address was injured,” Queensland Police Service (QPS) said.
His wife was home at the time. Blood was left on the floor while muddy footprints could be seen tracked throughout the house, including into the children’s bedrooms.

According to police, the crime spree began about 12.23am when officers received reports of a group of masked offenders walking around Heathwood.
“While conducting patrols, officers located an Aspen St address that had been broken into, and a white 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross with Queensland registration 996YVZ was stolen,” police said.
About 12.45am, a person armed with a bladed weapon attempted to force entry into a home on Barcoo St at Runcorn.
Police said the offender was unsuccessful before fleeing in a vehicle matching the description of the Mitsubishi stolen minutes earlier.
At 1.16am, police believe the same group broke into the Royal Esplanade home at Manly.
The group fled in the stolen Mitsubishi before breaking into a home on Amber Cl at Eight Mile Plains, where multiple items were stolen, about 1.46am.
About 2.25am, detectives believe the same group attempted to gain access to a home on Denton Ct at Daisy Hill but were unsuccessful before fleeing.
Just after 3am, police said the group broke into a home on Blackthorn Cres at Shailer Park, where they stole a white 2020 Skoda Kodiaq with Queensland registration 186KE3 before driving away.
Detectives from the Bayside and Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branches are investigating and are appealing for information about the group or the stolen Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, registration 996YVZ, and Skoda Kodiaq, registration 186KE3.
