Sydney Ho-rror: Man Charged With Mu-rd-er After Father, 64, Found De-ad Outside Burning Family Home

A man will front court accused of killing his father in Western Sydney.

Emergency services arrived at the home on Wargon Cr in Glenmore Park about 12.50am on Thursday after receiving reports of a fire.

The body of a man, believed to be aged 64, was found outside the property which was partially alight.

Investigations into the incident were launched as firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Superintendent Trent King said a cause of death would be difficult to determine as the deceased had suffered “significant injuries” including burns.

“(It was) a very distressing scene for first responders,” he said.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man found in a car on Parkes Ave in Werrington, about 12km northeast, later that morning.

Paramedics treated the man for minor injuries to his hands and feet before taking him to hospital under police guard.

He was later released from hospital and charged with domestic violence murder.

He is expected to appear before Penrith Local Court on Friday.
