Meghan Markle has posted dozens of photos to social media to commemorate her eight-year wedding anniversary to Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share 24 photos of her and her husband, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at their 2018 nuptials.

The photos were split into two posts : 12 snaps capturing their daytime wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle, and another 12 images showing their fun-filled reception in the evening. While most of the photos solely featured the newlyweds, a few family members were also seen. Meghan shared a photo of her with her mother Doria, while King Charles also made an appearance in one of the photos.

In one of the photos, taken in Windsor Castle before Harry and Meghan’s ceremony began in St George’s Chapel, Meghan is seen looking away from the camera and towards her father-in-law Charles, who walked the Duchess down the aisle when her own father, Thomas Markle, was unable to make it.

Charles is seen in the photo looking at his son Harry, who is speaking to people in the entrance of the church.

Meghan’s inclusion of the King in her wedding anniversary post comes after rumours swirled that Charles has removed the couple’s wedding photo from his home at Highgrove, as the relationship between the monarch and his younger son remains strained.

Royal photographer Chris Jackson recently hosted an event at the Highgrove estate, and from snippets of the event shared online, eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that a photo of Harry and Meghan’s wedding, which used to sit on Charles’s table, is now gone.

While the photo could have been moved to any other place in the palace, some royal fans were surprised that the photo had been moved leading up to the couple’s anniversary.

Speaking on the Royals Uncensored podcast, Grant Harrold – who worked as a butler in Highgrove for eight years – said it would have been the King who moved the picture. “The only person who can move pictures or move things around is the King himself. So it has to be the King’s decision,” he explained.

As well as the photo featuring Charles, Meghan posted many more photos online, taken by her wedding photographer Chris Allerton. The snaps show Harry and Meghan sharing a quiet moment in Windsor Castle before their reception, with others showing the behind-the-scenes moment of their official wedding portraits.

In other photos, Meghan stands with her mother Doria and Harry hugs a wedding guest. Also shown are photos of the couple delivering their wedding speeches, and raising a toast before sharing a kiss in front of their families and friends.

In the photos looking back at their wedding evening, Meghan posted 12 photos of the newlywed couple taking to the dancefloor for their first dance, before stealing a kiss as Meghan flashed her new wedding ring. Harry and Meghan tied the knot eight years ago in a fairytale ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
