The entire seventh season of the show will begin streaming on Netflix on March 12. The romantic drama series stars Connecticut native Alexandra Breckenridge. Breckenridge told Connecticut Magazine in 2008 that she was born in Bridgeport, but spent most of her time in the Nutmeg State in Darien before moving to California when she was around 11-years-old. Aside from “Virgin River,” Breckenridge has had roles in series like “American Horror Story,” “This Is Us” and “The Walking Dead.”

Breckenridge plays Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner who loses her first husband in a car crash. Hoping for a fresh start, she answers an ad for a new job that brings her to the remote town of Virgin River.

During the new season, Monroe, along with her new husband Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson), begin their life as newlyweds on a farm, according to an article Tudum By Netflix. However, their new life will “come with its own obstacles,” the article adds. The last season ended with one of Monroe’s pregnant patients asking the couple if they would adopt their baby once it was born.

The season will also include new characters. Among them will be Victoria (played by Sara Canning), who is an ex-cop who was shot in the line of duty, Clay (played by Cody Kearsley), an “athletic” man who is searching for this younger sister, and a mysterious figure from Monroe’s past, played by Austin Nichols.

Season 7 won’t be the last. The series has been renewed for season 8, according to Tudum.
