Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s pals have spoken out on their hopes for reconciliation with the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been estranged from the royal relatives across the pond after their dramatic decision to step down as senior working royals in 2020.

Harry and Meghan moved to the US for a new, financially independent life since then, and their rift with the Firm has only deepened. The Sussex couple made a number of allegations against the royals since their departure, which only worsened their feud.

But over the last year, efforts from both sides have been made toward a possible path to reconciliation.

Now, sources close to the couple have spoken out about the divide and whether the rift can ever heal.

A friend told People magazine: “Meghan lets him [Harry] lead on all royal matters and dictate what needs to happen.

“But it would never put them at odds—they’re on the same team.”

Another source added: “It remains very emotional. Harry and Meghan are both realistic.

“They’re not approaching it with the expectation of a quick resolution. It’s about taking small, manageable steps and seeing where things land.

“This remains very important to Harry, with Meghan supportive.”

During his recent trip to Ukraine, the prince rejected claims that he is “not a working royal”.

Harry told ITV that he will always be part of the Royal Family and continue public service work.

He claimed that he sees himself as continuing the work he was “born to do,” saying he values humanitarian trips, the people he meets, and the ability to draw attention to issues that fall out of the news cycle when other events dominate.
