A mother has been arrested for murder after a 7-year-old child was found dead inside a freezer at a Lynwood apartment on Tuesday night, Eyewitness News has learned. The child’s father and grandmother were also taken into custody.

Deputies were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. to an apartment building in the 3100 block of Euclid Avenue, near Santa Fe Avenue.

Authorities reportedly received a call reporting a dead child. When deputies arrived at the apartment complex to conduct a welfare check, they made the grim discovery. The 7-year-old was reportedly found in the freezer and pronounced dead at the scene.

The child’s mother, father and grandmother were taken into custody, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Three additional children, ages 16, 13 and 9 months, were also found at the scene and taken into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the child’s mother, 25-year-old Destiny Harrison, was arrested for murder. The father, 25-year-old Daniel Monzon, and grandmother, 46-year-old Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, were arrested for conspiracy to commit murder, the sheriff’s department said. Bail was set at $2 million each.

It’s unclear how long the child had been dead. The investigation into the child’s death is ongoing.
