Three boys, one aged 13 and two aged 14, were arrested about 7.30am on Thursday after police executed search warrants at several homes in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The 13-year-old boy and one of the 14-year-old boys were charged with aggravated sexual assault in the company of others and two counts of aggravated sexually touching of another person.
The other 14-year-old boy was charged with a single count of each of the same offences.
They were all granted strict conditional bail to face a children’s court on August 25.
In the search warrants, police also seized two replica guns, a Glock-style BB gun, three laser pointers and a number plate alleged to have been stolen from one of the homes.
Multiple electronic devices were also seized, which are set to undergo forensic examination.
In a letter to parents and carers, Scots College principal Ian Lambert said the school was aware of the police investigation into the students.
“The College became aware of further information through a media release issued by police this afternoon,” Lambert wrote.
“The College takes this matter seriously and has cooperated, and will continue to cooperate, with police as required.
“We believe it is important that the police investigation is allowed to take its course, and it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on the matter.
“I recognise that news of this nature may cause concern within our community and appreciate that parents may have questions.
“If there is further information appropriate for the College to share, we will do so.”
Scots College is the most expensive school for boys in Sydney, with fees for year 12 in excess of $50,000 per year.
Its main campus is in the affluent suburb Bellevue Hill.
