LOVE ISLAND BOMBSHELL: Jasmine Finally Reveals Why She Didn’t Hug Julia at the Final — And Fans Are SHO-CKED!
Love Island 2026 runner-up Jasmine Müller has addressed the backlash over not hugging winner Julia Majchrzak during the live final, insisting it was completely unintentional.
After Julia and Lorenzo Alessi were announced as the winners, Jasmine hugged and kissed her partner Kavan Murphy before running over to congratulate Lorenzo. Viewers noticed that she did not appear to hug Julia, leading to criticism online.
Speaking to Capital, Jasmine explained that the moment was simply chaotic and she was quickly pulled away by Maya Jama.
“I didn’t even realise. To be honest it was just a high moment.”
Jasmine said Maya came over to speak to her immediately after she had hugged someone else, meaning she never got the chance to properly congratulate Julia on stage. She stressed that there was no bad feeling between them and that she later found Julia and gave her “a big hug” and congratulated her.
Kavan also defended Jasmine, confirming that the moment was “not intentional.”
Jasmine also revealed that she only learned after leaving the villa that Julia had called her a “b—-” following the Casa Amor recoupling. She said she had been completely unaware of the comment while filming and believed everything between them was fine.
Kavan questioned why the incident had not been shown during the Grafties or Movie Night, joking that it was exactly the kind of drama viewers would have wanted to see.
Despite the tension, Jasmine said she does not believe Julia is fake, although she admitted that Julia has “an interesting way of saying things” and described her as a unique person.
Meanwhile, Julia and Lorenzo went on to win Love Island 2026, with Jasmine and Kavan finishing as runners-up.
