Love Island’s Kavan Breaks Silence on Brother Saying Jasmine “Runs Her Mouth Too Much”
Love Island star Kavan Murphy has addressed comments made by his older brother about his girlfriend Jasmine Müller, after the remarks sparked discussion among fans.
Kavan entered Love Island season 13 as a bombshell and quickly became involved in one of the show’s biggest storylines because of his connection to Jasmine. His relationship with his brother Aidan Murphy also became a major part of the season, particularly because Aidan had previously made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of Jasmine.
Although Jasmine eventually managed to win Aidan over, it appears she faced another challenge outside the villa after Kavan and Aidan’s oldest brother publicly shared his thoughts about her.
What did Kavan’s brother say about Jasmine?
During a livestream with fellow Love Island star Tyrique Hyde, Kavan’s older brother said that Jasmine wasn’t his “cup of tea” and criticised the way she behaved during arguments.
He claimed that Jasmine needed to stop “running her mouth too much”, comments that quickly made their way around social media.
When Kavan and Jasmine visited Capital after leaving the villa, they were asked whether he had seen what his brother had said.
Kavan admitted that he hadn’t watched the comments himself, explaining that he’d only heard about them through other people.
“I’ve not seen what’s been said. I’ve just heard through the grapevines and stuff,” he said.
However, Kavan insisted that there was no ongoing family feud and revealed that both families had already met since the couple left the villa.
“Since we’ve been out, it’s been great. The families have all met. Everyone loves each other,” he explained.
Kavan admits his brother probably shouldn’t have said it
Kavan was also asked whether his brother was entitled to judge Jasmine’s behaviour based on what he had watched on television.
While acknowledging that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, Kavan admitted that his brother probably shouldn’t have publicly voiced some of his thoughts.
“Yeah. You got to think, when you’re watching on screen, you have your opinions,” he said.
“Obviously, should he have said some things? Probably not.”
Kavan added that there’s an important difference between having an opinion and publicly expressing it.
“You can always have an opinion, but you don’t always have to voice your opinion.”
Despite the comments, Kavan insisted that everything is now fine between the families, describing the situation as “very happy families.”
Jasmine agreed with him, adding: “Very much. And Priya’s there.”
Aidan says the family loves Jasmine
Kavan’s brother isn’t the only family member who has had to navigate the drama surrounding Jasmine.
Aidan, who was also asked about the comments, admitted that he’d only seen snippets of what happened and didn’t know the full story.
“I have seen little snippets, as to what’s happened. I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know the full story,” he said.
However, Aidan made it clear that there is no bad blood between Jasmine and the Murphy family.
“All I know is my family love Jasmine to pieces.”
He explained that since returning from the villa, he had received plenty of calls and FaceTimes from his family, describing everyone as being in “one happy family.”
Aidan even joked that their future Christmas dinners should be interesting.
“The Christmas dinners are going to be amazing,” he said.
For now, it seems the comments haven’t caused a lasting rift. Despite the criticism from Kavan’s older brother, Kavan, Aidan and Jasmine all insist that the families are getting along, leaving the drama firmly in the rear-view mirror.
