LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The 14-year-old boy who was fatally shot over the weekend has been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified him as Jahlil Brown.

“He was literally a light to everyone he ever encountered, this wasn’t for my baby. He didn’t deserve this at all,” his mother told WLKY.
Brown was shot and killed in south Louisville Saturday night.
Officers heard reports of a fight in the 700 block of Gagel Avenue, in the Cloverleaf neighborhood, around 10:10 p.m. When they arrived, they found two boys who had been shot.
Brown was pronounced dead on the scene. The other boy was sent to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Brown’s death has been ruled a homicide.
No arrests have been made in the case.
