Prince William could not contain his excitment as he threw his arms around fellow fans and joked he would go dancing in the fountains as he celebrated Aston Villa’s win in the Europa League final.

Aston Villa beat Freiburg in Istanbul at Besiktas Park on Wednesday night making it their first European Trophy since the 1980s and they were roared on by Prince William and a sea of loyal fans at Besiktas Park.

While soaking up the atmosphere after the game, two fans found themselves sharing a joyous moment with the Prince. Mat Kendrick and Dan Rolinson, hosts of the Claret & Blue Podcast for Villa supporters, couldn’t believe it when William called them over by name.

Footage of the encounter shows Mat and the Prince leaning over the balcony for a hug as William declared: “What an amazing night.” When Mat pointed out the pitch invasion, William said: “I was tempted to go down there, but I thought, “Let’s let everyone else have their moment.” This is about the players, the team and the fans. This is really important.”

Dan jokingly asked William: “Are we going to go dancing in the fountains together tonight?” To which WIlliam replied: “You lead the way, mate. I’ll follow you,” reports MailOnline.

Prince William enjoyed being a part of the Aston Villa celebrations as the future king found himself drinking beers as part of the dressing room party after they secured Europa League glory. The Prince was later pictured alongside Unai Emery, who won his fifth Europa League, and Villa director Damian Vidagany as the trio shared a picture with the massive trophy.

The party didn’t stop there either, with the wife of Villa defender Victor Lindelof sharing an image of William partying with the team’s family and friends. Maja Lindelof posted the image on her social media story along with a caption that translates to ‘off the rails’.

Villa’s stunning season had already seen them secure a return to the Champions League even before their victory in the Europa League final. On the final day they can wrap up fourth spot as Unai Emery continues to excel in the Midlands as he further etches his name into Europe’s secondary tournament.
