An “unhinged” Netflix adaptation has just been named as the biggest new series of 2026 so far.

According to new figures, one of the streaming giant’s crime thrillers is one of the most watched titles around this year. Released back in January, His & Hers quickly became a hit among viewers, claiming the top spot in Netflix’s charts for the month.

It stars Jon Bernthal, who is currently leading The Punisher special on Disney+, alongside Marvel alum Tessa Thompson. According to the synopsis, the series is set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta.

Anna lives in reclusively, fading away from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega – the sleepy town where she grew up – Anna is snapped back to life.

She pounces on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: HIS & HERS, which means someone is always lying.

The limited series was based on the novel of the same name by Alice Feeney. One critic described it as “unhinged, ridiculous, sexy, and sensational” while another later called it “one of Netflix’s most underrated crime thrillers”.

Meanwhile one verdict declared it as “twisty, absurd and bingeable”. Now, new figures reported by Variety reveal just how much of a hit the six-part thriller was.

According to the report it was the number one most streamed new series in the US. It managed to beat out new seasons of Fallout, High Potential and Bridgerton. While it also surpassed a number of Yellowstone spin-offs such as The Madison and Marshals.

The numbers are provided by Nielson and state that His & Hers accumulated 25.6 million views between January and March. While these are figures for the US audience, data for the UK tells a similar story.

According to YouGov. His & Hers managed 33.3 million views for January alone in the UK. This also puts it as one of the biggest new releases as it was only beaten by new seasons of Bridgerton, Fallout, Stranger Things and Harlen Coben thriller Run Away.

However, only the figures for the month it was released are known. The total UK figures for the title across the months since it was first made available is not known.

Although, Netflix lists His & Hers as the 10th most viewed show on the service of all time. It has accumulated 98.2 million views across its global audience.

The only other limited series that have performed better for the service are The Queen’s Gambit, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Adolescence.

 

 

For those who have still yet to watch His & Hers, plenty of fans have shared their recommendations. One posted online saying: “Terrific murder mystery. I thought the writing was superb along with the acting. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering “who did it.” An ending I did not see coming.”

Another added: “One of the best Whodunnits of 2026. The cast is extraordinary along with their acting. A true gripping story with so many interconnected webs that you will keep on guessing right till the end.”
