INVESTIGATORS SAY THE SCENE MAY HAVE BEEN ALTERED… New Details Continue to Emerge in the Case of 7-Year-Old Paris Williams.

New Court Filing Reveals $2.5 Million Bond for Man Accused in 7-Year-Old Paris Williams’ Death

Investigators say Addis mother's original story was a cover-up in death of 7 -year-old daughter

The man accused in the death of 7-year-old Paris Williams is now being held on a $2.5 million bond as investigators continue piecing together what happened inside an Addis, Louisiana, home where the young girl suffered fatal injuries.

Authorities say the case, which began with reports of an apparent household accident, has evolved into a homicide investigation involving allegations of domestic violence and evidence tampering.

Suspect Ordered Held on $2.5 Million Bond

Murder suspect surrenders in death of 7-year-old Addis girl

According to the Addis Police Department, Christopher Butler, 33, is charged with:

Second-degree murder
Aggravated domestic battery with child endangerment

During a court appearance this week, a judge set Butler’s bond at $2.5 million.

He remains in custody while awaiting further court proceedings.

Investigators Say Paris Died From Blunt Force Injuries

Police were called to a residence at MyHand Trailer Park after receiving a report that 7-year-old Paris Williams was unresponsive.

She was rushed to a local children’s hospital, where she later died.

An autopsy determined the child suffered multiple blunt force injuries, and her death was officially ruled a homicide.

Investigators now say they do not believe an overturned dresser—which was initially suggested as the cause of her injuries—was responsible for her death.

Detectives Believe Evidence Was Altered

As the investigation progressed, detectives said evidence collected at the home indicated the scene may have been manipulated after the incident.

According to Addis Police Chief Jason Langlois, investigators believe items inside the residence were moved or cleaned in an apparent attempt to conceal what had happened.

Those findings became a key part of the criminal investigation.

Police have not released additional details regarding the evidence while the case remains active.

Child’s Mother Also Faces Serious Charges

Paris’ mother, Breyonne D. Dorsey, 30, was previously arrested in connection with the investigation.

She faces charges including:

Principal to second-degree murder
Two counts of felony domestic abuse battery with child endangerment
Obstruction of justice

Authorities allege Dorsey attempted to hide evidence after the incident.

Her bond was previously set at $1 million.

Investigation Continues

Detectives continue reviewing forensic evidence, witness statements and the sequence of events leading up to Paris Williams’ death.

Officials have not announced when Butler or Dorsey will next appear in court.

Authorities are asking anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact Addis Police.

The case remains one of the most closely watched child homicide investigations in Louisiana this year as prosecutors continue preparing their case.
