Police have launched an investigation after a body was discovered inside a public toilet block near the River Torrens in Adelaide.
The discovery was made shortly after 7.30am on Wednesday at the bathroom facilities off Jolleys Lane, close to Jolleys Boathouse.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports that a person had been located inside the facility.
What began as an ordinary morning quickly turned into a major police response.
Officers arrived and established a crime scene around the area while investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the death.
South Australia Police later confirmed the incident is being treated as an unexplained death.
At this stage, authorities have not publicly released the identity, age, or gender of the deceased.
They have also not confirmed how long the person may have been at the location before being found.
Members of the public were asked to stay away from the area while police carried out investigations.
The section near the River Torrens, usually busy with walkers, cyclists and morning visitors, was suddenly filled with police activity.
Locals arriving in the area described seeing officers moving through the scene while access points were restricted.
Investigators are now working to understand exactly what happened.
Police are expected to review nearby movements, examine evidence collected at the scene, and establish a timeline leading up to the discovery.
Whether the death involved medical circumstances, an accident, or another factor remains unclear.
Authorities have not indicated any immediate threat to the public.
However, officers continue treating the matter seriously while awaiting further information.
The location itself is well known to many Adelaide residents.
Jolleys Lane and surrounding sections of the River Torrens are popular for walking paths, cafés and riverside activity.
That familiarity has made the discovery even more shocking for people in the area.

News of the incident quickly spread online, with many expressing concern and waiting for updates from police.
For now, investigators remain focused on one task:
Finding answers.
The coming days are expected to be critical as forensic examinations continue and authorities attempt to determine the cause of death.
Police have urged anyone who may have been in the area earlier in the morning and noticed unusual activity to come forward.
As the investigation continues, the public is being asked to avoid speculation until official findings are released.
What happened inside the quiet riverside facility remains unknown.
But for investigators standing behind the police tape on Wednesday morning, the search for that answer has only just begun.
