“SOMEONE OUT THERE KNOWS THE TRUTH” — TEARS, PRAYERS, AND A PLEA TO ‘BRING HIS SPIRIT HOME’ AS BATON ROUGE REFUSES TO GIVE UP ON JA’DERRIUS MINNIEWEATHER

For the family of Ja’Derrius Minnieweather, every day without answers has become another day trapped in uncertainty, heartbreak, and hope.

More than two weeks have passed since the 15-year-old Baton Rouge teenager was last seen on June 5 after reportedly leaving a residence in the area known locally as “Ghost Town.” According to relatives, Ja’Derrius was riding a red-and-black bicycle during the early morning hours before seemingly disappearing without a trace.

Since that morning, his family says there have been no phone calls, no messages, no social media activity, and no confirmed sightings.

As concern continues to mount, Baton Rouge officials, community advocates, volunteers, faith leaders, and family members recently gathered to provide an emotional update on the ongoing search.

Their message was simple.

Ja’Derrius has not been forgotten.

And the search is far from over.

Volunteers have spent countless hours searching wooded areas, abandoned properties, drainage canals, roadsides, and neighborhoods surrounding the location where the teenager was last seen. Members of the United Cajun Navy and local residents have also joined efforts, determined to leave no stone unturned.

The search has become even more challenging as severe weather threatens parts of Louisiana, forcing crews to work under increasingly difficult conditions.

Still, supporters say they refuse to stop.

One of the most emotional moments came during the gathering when a local community leader spoke directly to Ja’Derrius.

“We are beckoning your spirit home,” the leader said, drawing tears from family members and supporters gathered nearby.

For relatives, the statement reflected the deep emotional toll the disappearance has taken on everyone involved.

Ja’Derrius’s aunt also addressed supporters, thanking the public for continuing to pray, volunteer, and share information about the case.

She expressed gratitude for those who have walked miles searching for clues, distributed flyers throughout Baton Rouge, and stood beside the family during their darkest moments.

At the same time, she reiterated a belief that has become central to the family’s public appeals.

Someone knows something.

Someone saw something.

Someone may be holding information that could bring an end to weeks of painful uncertainty.

Investigators continue to pursue leads and encourage anyone with credible information to contact authorities. Police have remained cautious about discussing specific details publicly, emphasizing that the investigation remains active.

For loved ones, however, every passing hour feels heavier than the last.

They describe Ja’Derrius as a teenager with dreams, ambitions, and strong family ties. They say disappearing without contacting loved ones would be completely out of character.

As another major briefing approaches, community members are anxiously waiting to hear whether investigators have uncovered any significant developments.

Until then, the questions that have haunted Baton Rouge since June 5 remain unanswered.

Where is Ja’Derrius Minnieweather?

What happened after he rode away that morning?

And perhaps most painfully, how much longer can a family endure waiting for news about a child they desperately want to bring home?

For now, the search continues.

And so does the hope that Ja’Derrius will one day hear the voices calling him back home.
