Netflix has released a trailer for season seven of its binge-worthy romantic drama Virgin River, teasing a ‘new chapter’ for newlyweds Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson).
The new clip shows the couple announcing they are expecting a baby, before declaring: “This is the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.” However, things soon take a turn when the mother of the baby they are hoping to adopt asks them for more time.

What happens in Virgin River season 7?
According to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, the new season will “explore the honeymoon phase for [Mel and Jack] as they’re building their lives on the farm, which can come with its own obstacles.”
The official synopsis reads: “Jack (Martin Henderson) and Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) are officially Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan after tying the knot at the end of Virgin River Season 6. But, as seen in the trailer for Season 7, married life isn’t as peaceful as they might have expected: Marley (Rachel Drance), the pregnant woman who hoped to have her baby adopted, asks Mel and Jack to be the parents. But that might not be as easy as just saying yes to her offer.

Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie and Kai Bradbury as Denny Cutler
“Elsewhere in Virgin River, Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury) are getting ready to welcome their first child; Kaia (Kandyse McClure) wonders whether she’s ready to settle down with Preacher (Colin Lawrence); Brie (Zibby Allen) reconnects with Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth); and Hope (Annette O’Toole) and Doc (Tim Matheson) wrestle with their own problems. Plus, Mel and Jack have a honeymoon to go on!”
Who stars in Virgin River season 7?
Season seven introduces several new faces, including Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) as ex-cop Victoria, who reconnects with an old friend in town, and Cody Kearsley (Riverdale, Daybreak) as Clay, who arrives in Virgin River searching for his sister.
