UNACCEPTABLE..! – A devastated mother has taken her own son to a police station after shocking footage allegedly showed him throwing a younger boy—who couldn’t swim—into a lake.
A heartbroken mum has taken her son to a police station after a video emerged of him throwing a younger boy, who could not swim, into a lake.
Police are investigating the disturbing incident of a 12-year-old boy, who cannot swim, being thrown into a lake by a teenager.
A video circulating on social media shows an older boy pick up the 12-year-old, who was pleading not to be thrown in a lake.
“I can’t swim,” he said in the video.
Footage shows an older boy throw him in the water, before a group of older kids burst into laughter.
A police spokesman said they were investigating a report of a 12-year-old boy being thrown into water near the Forest Lake Amphitheatre, in Brisbane’s south, on Thursday.

“Officers are aware of social media video of the incident and are currently in contact with all boys involved and their families,” a spokesman said.
“Investigations into the incident are ongoing.”
Police Minister Dan Purdie said it was an assault.
“We don’t tolerate any kind of physical assault,” he said.
The alleged offender’s mother posted anonymously on social media that she took her son to a police station to confess what he had done after realising the seriousness of the situation.
“We immediately … made the decision to take him to the police station so he could admit his involvement and accept responsibility for his actions,” she said.
“My son is facing consequences at home, and we are fully prepared for any further consequences that come through the school or the legal process. Accountability is important, and we are not trying to avoid it.”
The older boy’s mother took him to a police station when she saw a video of the incident and realised the seriousness of the incident.
The mother said her heart was broken knowing that her child caused another child “fear, distress and trauma”.
“No parent ever wants to see their child hurt, and I am deeply sorry that your son experienced this because of my son’s actions,” she wrote.
“I know that an apology does not erase what happened, and I don’t expect forgiveness.
“My hope is simply that, over time, my son learns from this, takes responsibility, and becomes a better person because of it.
“My focus right now is ensuring my son is held accountable while also making sure this situation doesn’t create further harm for anyone involved.”
The mum said what happened was wrong and she understood why so many people were upset by the video.
“Our family is not ignoring what happened. We are taking it very seriously,” she said.
