Prince Harry has been mocked by royal fans ahead of his next major appearance. Just days ago it was confirmed that The Duke of Sussex, 41, will be a Keynote Speaker at this year’s International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Global Summit in Washington DC.

The event, which will take place from March 30 to April 2, will see the prince discuss the digital world and its impact on society. The prince has been described by the event organisers as “a humanitarian, mental health advocate, environmentalist, and military combat veteran”.

Harry is expected to talk in his speech about whether the digital world is “breaking or bridging society”.

Since news of his next keynote speaker role was announced this week, many have taken to X to mock the prince’s role at this upcoming event.

One person wrote: “Wonder how many empty seats there will be???”

Another said: “They must be really short of speakers to resort to Harry.”

Someone else commented: “By what criteria does he have any expertise to lecture anyone on these topics?”

It is not known whether his wife Meghan Markle will join him at the event. The conference is ticketed, with the cheapest tickets for the main conference being priced at around £505 ($695) and the most expensive being around £1,305 ($1,795).

The prince is not only being criticised for being a speaker at such an event, but he is also being criticised for the event clashing with an event King Charles will attend.

This is because the conference runs over a number of days, including April 2 which is Maundy Thursday – a key date in the royal calendar. The King usually attends the Maundy Thursday service every year and on the exact date distributes special Maundy money to local pensioners.

It is not known whether Harry is aware of the schedule clash.
