Supriya Thakur has been remembered by friends and family as a “really, really beautiful mother” after she was allegedly murdered by her husband.

On Sunday, at around 8.30pm, emergency services were called to a home on Northfield’s West Avenue in Adelaide following reports of a domestic assault.

On arrival, police found the 36-year-old mother unconscious, and tragically, she could not be revived.

Thakur’s husband, Vikrant Thakur, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder, 9News reports.

Following her death, the aspiring nurse has been praised for her devotion to her child, as well as her friendship.

“She should be remembered as a really, really beautiful mother, as a really good friend,” Ella Butler, a close friend to Thakur, told the publication.

9News reports the couple have a son. However, it’s not confirmed if he was in the house at the time of the incident. Police confirmed that another person was in the house, but they were uninjured.

Investigations into the alleged murder are currently ongoing. Thakur has been refused bail and has faced court, with prosecutors stating that phones, as well as toxicology and DNA, are to be examined.
