Prince Edward was the image of his father
While no doubt royal fans were smitten over Sophie’s beautiful Gabriela Hearst equestrian print dress – a touching way to honour the late monarch – many royal fans couldn’t get over how much Prince Edward resembled his late father, Prince Philip.
One photo in particular saw Edward, 62, on the famous museum steps as he and Sophie made their way to view the final design for the national memorial of the late Queen.

The pose Prince Edward was in was on his father frequently adopted
Edward can be seen with his hands clasped behind his back, his side profile on view, which struck a strong resemblance to his father. “The Duke being the spitting image of his father, Prince Philip,” one royal fan penned.
‘Honest and candid’
Celebrity psychic and body language expert, Inbaal Honigman, has weighed in on the striking family resemblance and explains Edward’s physicality could be something passed down in childhood
“The child will naturally copy their parent, starting from a very young age. This is done both as a game and as a learned skill. Children may stand like their parents, move their bodies in a similar way, and employ identical moves to suggest that they’re attentive, angry, upset and so on. The copied moves become second nature and persist throughout life and into adulthood in the child.

Celebrity psychic and body language expert, Inbaal Honigman, said this is likely something developed in childhood
Inbaa went on to explain it could also be their similar body types which caused fans to take notice: “Families may share similar body types. This could cause parents and children to stand in similar ways simply because their physical shape is more comfortable in those poses.
“As the late Prince Phillip and his son Edward are both tall and slim, they’d naturally gravitate towards the same types of moves and poses, which makes their resemblance even more striking. And, of course, there’s the matter of personality and characteristics.
She continues: “Edward’s hands, which are laced behind his back, are formal yet candid. When the arms are behind the body, as is the case with Edward and Phillip, this is the body language of an honest, candid individual.
“That his hands are holding on to one another demonstrates restraint. Unlike dangling arms, casual and easygoing by the sides of the body, the stiffer pose of hands held behind the body shows a level of comfort with formality and tradition.
“Edward is leaning slightly to the front, which also signifies honesty and an eagerness to be friendly with people. It is an inviting, sociable pose. This jovial, candid, yet slightly formal body language suits Edward’s character, and also Philip’s.”
