Ariana Grande was ambushed by a fan while walking the red carpet at the Singapore premiere of her new film Wicked: For Good on Thursday.
The actress, 32, was walking beside her co-star Cynthia Erivo, 38, who bravely jumped in front of her when she saw the man running towards them.
The video which was shared widely online showed the man lunging at Ariana and putting his arm around her, as she struggled to get away at Universal Studios.
Ahead of security, Cynthia, who plays Elphaba in the film, jumped in between her friend and the man to try and block him while seemingly shouting something at him.
Moments later a group of security guards at the event then pulled him away, leaving a visibly shaken Ariana being comforted by her friend Cynthia.
He was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts and had distinctive long black hair with dyed blue streaks.

He was quickly identified as notorious Australian red carpet crasher Johnson Wen, who is also known as Pyjama Man online.
He has shared videos after accosting other celebrities such as Katy Perry, The Weeknd and electronic duo The Chainsmokers in a similar manner during their gigs.
Wen shared clips from the moment on his Instagram Story, writing: ‘Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.’
Eerie videos taken before he jumped over a barricade to see Ariana show him saying it is his ‘dream’ to meet the actress.
Standing underneath a poster of Ariana in Wicked, Wen said: ‘I feel like I’m in a dream. That’s my best friend Ariana Grande and I’m going to meet her. I’ve been dreaming about that’, before doing a theatrical laugh.
After his stunt, Wen later posted on his Instagram stories he was ‘free’ after Ariana’s fans watched him get tackled to the ground by security.
Furious, they told him he should be ‘ashamed’ of his ‘disgusting behaviour’.
They wrote: ‘After all the trauma Ari has been through, this is beyond disrespectful. Not just to her, but to the cast and to all the fans. It’s literally infuriating. You should be ashamed’;

After the incident, Ariana put a brave face on as she held onto a concerned-looking Cynthia’s arm
‘She was terrified’ and ‘This is extremely dangerous. Not sure why you would even do this’;
‘this is horrible why are you proud of doing this? why do you make it your content just for clout’ and ‘that was unnecessary. you’re not a fan. have you done the same thing to several celebrities and still haven’t stopped? it’s disrespectful and ridiculous that you behave this way’.
The Singapore premiere is the only Asian stop in the film’s international promotional tour, which ends in New York City on November 17.
Wen previously vowed to stop invading celebrities’ space when he was charged after interrupting Katy Perry’s Sydney concert in June.
Wen was charged with two offences – entering enclosed land and obstructing a person in performance of work or duties.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on June 23.
Wen was also issued with a notice barring him from entering the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct for six months.
In 2020, he received a $250 fine for dangling from a Brisbane footbridge and also received a $220 fine for a pitch invasion at a 2021 rugby union match.
He boasts on his Instagram bio he is the ‘most hated troll’ and ‘2023 WorId Cup FinaI Pitch lnvader’.
He told 9News at the time he did it for fun and loves the rush of stage crashing.
Wen said: ‘I said “let me get on stage with you”, then she [Katy Perry] freaked out because she realised I wasn’t a performer. I was about to do like extra Fortnite moves but security got there too quick.’
Wen, who has insisted he isn’t a threat, has also conducted invasions at the Olympics in Paris, the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the men’s Cricket World Cup final in India.
He said ‘I just got on there, and as soon as I got tackled I got in a lot of trouble,’ he said of the invasion in India.
Wen, who is unemployed and was last known to be living in a backpackers’ hostel, is said to have racked up $20,000 in fines, according to the publication.
At the time, he said he plans to stop crashing red carpets and stages, saying: ‘I’m planning to quit forever because you get in way too much trouble for it, especially me, because I’ve done it so many times.’
In December last year, Wen ran on stage at The Chainsmokers’ set at the Palm Tree Festival in Sydney, with security pulling his legs out from underneath him to try to stop him.
Then in August, the Instagrammer invaded The Weeknd’s stage at his Melbourne show.
The singer, 35, lost his ear piece as he tried to release himself from Wen, who had grabbed hold of him.
Following the incident, the Glinda actress looked shaken and could be seen letting out deep breaths while walking beside Cynthia down the carpet.
Ariana has previously spoken about struggling with PTSD after her concert was bombed in Manchester in 2017, leaving 22 people dead.
She told British Vogue in 2018: ‘Yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well.
‘It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss … I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.’
In the same interview, she opened up about her ongoing struggles with anxiety.

‘I think a lot of people have anxiety, especially right now … My anxiety has anxiety. I’ve always had anxiety.
‘I’ve never really spoken about it because I thought everyone had it, but when I got home from tour, it was the most severe I think it’s ever been.’
A couple of years later in 2020, Ariana’s then-manager Scooter Braun revealed the singer was still ‘suffering’ on the three year anniversary of the bombing.
Speaking on the third anniversary of the attack, Scooter explained that the pop star was still struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Scooter, who along with Ariana visited the families and injured at the Royal Manchester Children’s hospital in the days after the attack, said: ‘She has PTSD, she’s still suffering to this day.’
Speaking nine months after the bombing, Scooter told on the Big Questions with Cal Fussman podcast, how Ariana had cried ‘for days’ after the attack.
He said: ‘When she found out that fans of hers had died she was so sad.
‘She cried for days, she felt everything – every face they announced, every name, she wore on her sleeve. Every bit of emotion because that’s who she is.’
He recalled that the pairs’ visits to the families in the days after the attack were the ‘hardest two hours of either of our lives’.
‘After the first family I had to help her, she was distraught and I was lost. It was beyond tough. But every single time we got down we reminded each other we get to go home.
‘Our loved ones are still going to be there. That mother is never coming home, that daughter is never coming home, that son is never coming home, that dad is never coming home.’
